Creepy bird
I don't know what type of bird this is, but I think he is a little creepy looking. He's another one I saw while trying to find a letterbox at the Gilbert Riparian Institute last weekend.
I think it is a comorant. I have a similar photo, and my Facebook birding friend narrowed it down to the neotropic comorant - it's feet give it away (looks like it is wearing rubber boots!)
I'm a freelance writer in the Phoenix area. I'll write about almost anything, but travel is my passion. I love writing about Arizona, in particular, and sharing our wonderful state with others. Check out my book, Great Escapes Arizona, available at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon.com.

ReplyDeleteI think it must be a giraffe bird with that neck.
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit on the ugly side whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda! I never would have been able to narrow it down on my own.
