Desert

Nothing too fancy today....just a picture of the desert where we rode quads. Lake Havasu would be straight ahead towards the mountains.

Truck Stuck in the Wash

We rode quads in the desert around Havasu on Saturday, and I came across this old truck stuck in the wash. It was probably abandoned in the wash (stolen and set on fire?), and when the wash flooded, the sand that came with the water buried it up to the axle. Just a theory.

Winter Blast

I spent the three-day weekend in Lake Havasu City, which is why I haven't been able to post until now. On Saturday night, we watched Winter Blast, the Western Pyrotechnic Association's fireworks extravaganza. Here's a shot of the finale.

Tubing

Okay, this is not Queen Creek, but it's one of my favorite summer pictures, taken on Lake Havasu. I've done some travel writing (Great Escapes Arizona, Countryman Press), so I end up traveling throughout the state and hope no one minds me occasionally posting pictures from other areas. Tomorrow, I think we're heading up North, so watch for photos soon from that trip.
