If you watch the TV show Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel, you may recall the episode where Mike Rowe visits an olive mill. This was the mill he came to, the Queen Creek Olive Mill in Queen Creek, Arizona. In the show, you would have seen the press and the olive grove, not the gift shop or the cafe that I've taken a picture of here. Great olives, great oil, great tapenade. Check it out if you're ever out this way!
I haven't been here yet, but I always buy the olives and the olive oil at the local farmer's market. I love the stuff!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen they have a vanilla olive oil? I didn't like the taste of it, but I think you're supposed to use it in baking. They had lemon muffins and carrot cake made from the vanilla olive oil. I'll have to try it.
